Where is the Climate Marketing ‘Sizzle’?
Climate messaging has a problem. We’ve mostly messaged about the threats of climate change, and while that has influenced some people, Americans who say that climate change is human caused has only increased from 50% to 60% over the past decade. That is clearly not good enough.
There is a Vampire on the Loose
No need to barricade the house and stock up on garlic just yet, the vampire is already in your house in your electrical outlets. The villain in question is vampire power, also known as standby power, phantom load, wall warts or ghost load. Almost everything you plug into your wall uses electricity even if it’s switched off.
Getting to Climate Change “Herd Immunity”
Over 60% of the US adult population has gotten at least one COVID vaccine, and a little more 60% believe that climate change is human caused. To eliminate the risk of the virus, and to solve climate change we need more people to get vaccinated and to take action. That will need new messaging.
